In 2009 the SANFL inaugurated a Multicultural round into the season program and for the first time named a South Australian Multicultural Team of the Century.
Multicultural Award
In 2019 the SANFL won the Governor’s Multicultural Award in recognition of its Multicultural football programs. They included the inaugural SANFL Nations Cup Festival.
The First Club Multicultural Match
In 2019 Sturt became the first club to stage a Multicultural Festival and Match Day.
